Like all the best businesses the Referral Institute has defined its mission statement. As a Franchise owner of the Referral Institute I use this to set out my strategy for my own business. This means applying it to how I work with my referral partners too.
The part that speaks to me loudly and clearly is about creating communities, because that tugs at what gives my life meaning, making my part of the world better because I was in it. Achieving referral communities that benefit all parties will give my life meaning - which will assure me a spectacular life. Job done!
Working with Chancery Accounts and Tax is a lovely example of a referral partnership in practice. Roger Eddowes, as a senior partner, has set out to support rural businesses in and around west Northamptonshire. As he puts it "working in farm buildings, villages and out of town business centres and home-based service there are some real business gems." So his strategy is to develop referral partners drawn from those gems. The aim being to help each other grow and to share and spread our joint networks locally.
An initial core of people drawn from this business community now meets regularly at the Stables restaurant in Towcester for a private breakfast club. Here we are getting to understand each other's business, support each other using our combined business expertise and look at how we can help each other and all our contacts in the surrounding area to grow our businesses through reciprocal referrals.
I feel privileged to work with Roger and the rest of his "gems" and to be part of making that vision a reality.
