Which way are you going?

One of my favourite people, Roger Thomas, my co-director in &Coaching Ltd uses a very famous Lewis Caroll quote on the importance of having goals when planning in business. So as I start the 2nd year of the Referral Institute in Northamptonshire it's a good time to lay out where I want to be by next Christmas ...

My vision for the Referral Institute is to create communities of like-minded, successful business people who by working together generate amazing business in line with their life ambitions. I intend to do this by building a group of trainers who provide relevant referral marketing instruction, continuous support and compassionate consulting to enable the businesses that work with me to develop a unified personal network.

What a wonderful way to earn a living by building something sustainable that will make a difference to the wider business community in the Northamptonshire area. So what are the things I will do to build some of these communities this year?

  1. Work closely with my referral partners to generate amazing business together,

  2. Run Spotlight Referral Success 101 workshops for my clients to help them share their new knowledge to their referral networks,

  3. Undertake more speaking engagements to spread the word about effective referral marketing,

  4. Recruit at least one trainer to build a referral marketing training business for them

  5. Run 4 Certified Networker groups this year to train at least 50 people to start their own community of referral partners,

  6. Spend time with my Referral Institute colleagues in UK, Europe and USA to continue my referral market education.

And Ivan Misner reminds me to have some personal goals too:

  1. To take two holidays this year with my family,

  2. Buy a new car.

You can see that I've got a number of business and personal goals and I intend to achieve all of them in 2013. How about you?
