This picture doesn't really do it justice. This is simply a mountain that makes my soul soar! Great for me, but who was looking after my business whilst I looked after my soul and my marriage?
Well, my other partners of course - my referral partners. In the two weeks I was away, the wonderful people I have got to know in the 10 years I've been in business had been busy on my behalf.
I returned yesterday to 6 new referrals:
One for a complex conflict resolution (my other job),
One was a general introduction to share contacts, this might develop into a referral relationship,
4 for my event this Thursday of whom 2 had already booked and paid before I even knew about them,
This didn't happen by chance or just by me knowing these people. All these referrals come from the good solid relationships that I've built up and nurtured over time with key people.
So my tip for this week then is really simple: Allocate time in your busy work life to build your referral network!
Choose the right people,
Take the time to help them so that they're motivated to help you,
Make sure they know how to help you,
Then take a holiday!
It really will pay dividends in the long term both for your business, your personal relationships and your spirit.
